With children growing up with technology in their hands, they are becoming more and more anti-social. They would instead speak to their friends through the use of their phones than face to face, even when seated right next to each other. Society is becoming more frustrated, and people tend to live with entitlement and judgement, with tempers flying all over.
Teaching children to recognise and deal with their emotions has become such a priority that films have been produced in this regard. In play therapy, we use pictures of faces (emoji's) for children to be able to recognise and name their emotions. We designed this set of cards as discussion starters for our children's ministry small groups but can be used efficiently in therapy, at home as well as with leaders.
