Term 6:
Introduction:
Who can remember what our great year theme is? The Great Adventure.
What is the The Great Adventure about ? Your movie (journey) with God.
Who is the main character of your movie? You. And the dirctor? God.
We all know that a good movie needs a hero! Can you think of movies depicting good heroes? Answers will probably include movies such as Iron Man, The Avengers, etc.
Does a hero always need super powers, or can you think of movies in which the hero is just an ordinary human being like us? Answers might include Mission Impossible, 007 (James Bond), Courageous etc.
The great question is then, what makes somebody a hero in your opinion? (Give them a short time to discuss it in groups of three and then let them give feedback, which you write down on the whiteboard. Write down all answers; the idea is to find out what they think, not to determine right or wrong.)
To find out what a true hero looks like, we are going to look at the lives of a few heroes from the Bible this term, so we can learn how to be a genuine hero in our own movie.
